Fishing Report Ending May 14, 2006

We are experiencing nice weather, clear skies and high temperatures, as well as continuing late afternoon and early morning bite at the river mouth and on the rip line.

Phil Hoover of Naples, FL. is five days into a seven day trip with a tally of 30 tarpon jumped and 6 boated. Two on fly. Phil took a break from all the action and went trolling , catching a nice 31lb. yellow fin tuna with his guide and friend Luis Perez. Phil comes at least twice a year for 7 to 10 days, fishing once in May and again in September. He is approaching his 50th return visit!!

Don Kohn and his wife Donna, along with his sister Karen Kohn of Little Rock AR. and Lisa Brunetti caught so many fish, they lost count. The girls all boated multiple tarpon with several of them over 150lb. Don is wheelchair bound but does not let that slow him down at all. He boated a lot of tarpon and several Jacks and a couple of Barracuda in a short two day trip!
