Fishing report ending January 15, 2006

We've been so busy that we've neglected to keep the fishing reports updated. Suffice it to say things are going good!

Earlier this month Rio Colorado Lodge was the destination of a NEW ESPN2 television REALITY fishing show to be titled "SO YOU WANT TO GO FISHING". The show was filmed at Rio Colorado Lodge with surprise guest Bill Peer of Huntington, NY. Bill was whisked away from the New York Boat Show on a half day notice allowing him to make 2 phone calls to say good-bye to his wife and work! You can watch the show beginning on April 16th, see adventure and a surprise ending at Rio Colorado Lodge. Bill got his monster tarpon and stayed an extra half day and jumped 8 more!

Guest Frank Lievens of Belgium with fishing buddies Degar Stgemeseder and Joseph Pichler of Austria on their annual fishing trip jumped 12 big tarpon and boated 3 in just one afternoon and following morning.

Light tackle fishing has been good. More Calba are coming in to the river now as we are getting our second big river rise for the year, a month later than normal. So, this should keep the fat snook in the area several weeks more than normal with the late spawn.
