Fishing Report Ending July 17, 2006
We've missed a couple of weeks at reporting, we're back now!!
The rains in the mountains has caused the Colorado River to rise and the water to become muddy. But, this has had no adverse effect on the ocean tarpon fishing which remained solid. All boats are hooking up with nice size tarpon and big Jack Crevelle.
Robert Dick of Stuart Florida, fishing at the Rio Colorado Lodge for 2 days jumped 6 tarpon and boated 2 on his first day, and on the second day after fishing for only one hour on the ocean he jumped 2 and boated 1. In addition, he caughts lots of big Jacks and several small fish while fishing up in the Tortuguero canal while resting his sore muscles!
Luther Gartrell, Alex Weisskoph and Ralph Dill from Alabama, all scored big tarpon on a one day fishing trip.
We still have 3 weeks on our $100 per day summer discount.
The big turtles are coming in to the beach to lay eggs, so we are watching lots of activity at sea while fishing!
