Fishing Report Ending April 30, 2006
The weather has been beautiful, no rain, and hot!
The river is unusually low, so there has been no back water fishing because the lagoons are too shallow. The action is at the mouth of the river and just outside!
First time guest Takayuki Usui of Toyko Japan came for a 4 day fishing mission to boat a big tarpon on a fly. Takayuki brought several tarpon to the boat, only to have the break off, so he extended his visit one more day! He had at least 68 tarpon hook ups on conventional and fly. He'll be back in September when the fishing is really hot on the ocean.
Guest Gary Weborg and his son Kevin from Chaska, MN. have boated one tarpon out of 7 jumped while fishing part time for 2 days. They'll be fishing a couple of days longer, so we may have much more to report next time for them!!
