Fishing Report Ending March 19, 2006

The past two weeks have given us solid tarpon fishing inside the breakers and good fishing up river at the right moments. Guest David Bankfon and Natalie Gumminger of Missouri had a great first visit, they jumped 15 tarpon and Natalie boated one!

Harrison Jewell from Edmonds, WA. and his fishing buddy Jim Hanken, jumped 15 tarpon and landed 7 in just 3 days of fishing.

The CATCH OF THE WEEK however, is by Aurora Adamanson of Turrialba Costa Rica. Aurora was left behind in the boat beached at the cut, while her boyfriend was surf fishing at Agua Dulce. For experimental purposes we had a Dan Gapen weighted bait walker in the rod holder with cut bait.
The rod went off and Aurora caught the rod and single handed in the boat caught a 56lb. Baracuda in the fresh water of Agua Dulce - this was a first for Aurora and Rio Colorado Lodge. See photo in recent photos!

The backwater fishing for pan fish is steady in clear water.
