Fishing Report ending October 1, 2005
This week we've experienced typical September good fishing. The seas are calm and all boats are fishing the ocean.
Bob Cantwell of Tennessee on his 8th trip to Rio Colorado Lodge caught his biggest tarpon ever, and in addition, he caught 3 nice yellow tuna which we put on the dinner table for guest. Fly fisherman Jim Croner jumped 8 tarpon and boated 2 on his first two days fishing. Howell Riggs of Huntsville, AL. jumped 10 and boated 5 tarpon this week. Eric Point of Kalamazoo, MI. on his first trip fly fishing
jumped 15 and boated 7 nice tarpon and several Jack Crevelle. Mojarra are biting lite tackle and flies in the back lagoons.
A village local brought a nice 18 lb. snook to the dock for the dinner table, but no guest are fishing snook although it is snook time.
