Fishing Report Ending May 7, 2006

The tarpon are biting strong in the afternoons at the river mouth and in the clear water offshore.

John Kubiak Sr. and Jr. of Albuquerque, NM got nice tarpon to the boat on John Jr's. first trip. Dad is a regular, but John Jr. got his first tarpon on his first trip. What could be better? Cynthia Fredrick fishing with her friend Belinda Melton had her hands full boating nice fish each outing. The last day Cynthia got 3 of sever tarpon hooked to the boat in 2 hours between 3 and 5PM, this included one Belinda handed off so she would not break a fingernail in the fight!!

Howard Varinsky, David Bluhm and Tom Revelli of Oakland, CA. got all the fish they could handle jumping over 25 and boating several in the 150lb. range. They had a triple hook up one afternoon while fishing 3 in one boat, and went five for 6 in one afternoon.
